Meet Bernee Bloomfield.

Bernee Bloomfeld
Community: Glenview, IL

I placed a deposit and moved into Classic Residence by Hyatt at The Glen eight months later. That was nearly four years ago, and it remains one of the best choices I've ever made in my life. I enjoy the peace of mind knowing long-term care and service are available. I also like the camaraderie and companionship. There are a number of activities to choose from, so there is always something to do. Plus, the dining program includes incredible menus—the food is gourmet. I just love it here.

A day in the life of Bernee Bloomfield.

I love to play golf and have been fortunate to have been to St. Andrew’s in Scotland. There are a number of courses nearby, so I can play nine holes and be back in time to join friends and neighbors for lunch at Classic Residence by Hyatt, at either The Grille or the Oak Street Bistro. When I’m not on the golf course, I’m practicing my putting on the community’s putting green.

I love improv and play reading. I would have not expected to be in a comedy group, but I really enjoy the challenge thinking on my feet and of course, we laugh a lot! Our group has even performed at the Chicago Improv Olympics.

I’m taking my daughter for a shopping spree at Old Orchard Shopping Center. Her birthday is tomorrow, and she saw a purse at Nordstrom that she really liked. I may buy a little something for myself, too!

Before dinner, I enjoy cocktails and conversation in the Northwoods Lounge followed by dinner in the elegant Great Lakes Room or The Grille, which is more informal. Our executive chef, Shep Drinkwater, has a real flair for coming up with menu items that are both great tasting and good for us—including desserts! It’s fun to spend time with old friends and meet new people at dinner.
