Classic Residence by Hyatt in Highlands Ranch Appoints Local Management Team

Colorado’s Only Type A Life Care Community Opens July 2008

HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO, MAY 05, 2008

Classic Residence by Hyatt, the leading provider of luxury living for older adults, has appointed a local management team for the company’s newest continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. The Type A life care community will be the first of its kind in the state. Residents are scheduled to begin moving into their new homes this summer.

Just like nearly 30% of the community’s future residents who have chosen to move to Highlands Ranch from out of state, Classic Residence by Hyatt in Highlands Ranch will be managed by longtime Classic Residence by Hyatt employees, but newcomers to Colorado.

Deann Daniel, a 15-year veteran of the senior living industry and Classic Residence by Hyatt employee of 10 years, is the community’s new executive director. Daniel was until recently the executive director of The Park Lane, A Classic Residence by Hyatt, in Monterey, California, where she won the company’s prestigious Executive Director of the Year award for her leadership in both 2006 and 2007. Additionally, under her stewardship, the Monterey community was honored Community of the Year in 2007. Prior to joining Classic Residence by Hyatt, she was the Senior Executive Director of the Northwest Region for Renaissance Senior Living, and the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Brookdale Senior Living. Daniel holds her administrator’s license for a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) in California, and is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Daniel lives in Littleton and loves her daily view of the Rocky Mountains.

Greg Morris is the community’s associate executive director. Morris joined Classic Residence by Hyatt in 2001 as sales director for the company’s then newest community in Glenview, Illinois. He was then promoted to assistant vice president of sales/new development at the company’s corporate office in Chicago, where he oversaw sales for the company’s new developments, including the Highlands Ranch community. Morris has more than 13 years of experience in senior living, and was formerly the Regional Director for New England of Louisville, Kentucky-based Sales-Kindred Healthcare. Morris is a graduate of Alfred University in New York. He has three children and is excited to call Highlands Ranch his new hometown.

Greg Strickland, CEC, CDM, CFPP, is the community’s executive chef. Strickland, who has been the executive chef of Classic Residence by Hyatt in Pompano Beach, Florida, since 2004, is a certified executive chef, certified dietary manager, and certified food protection professional, and was appointed a member of the Culinary Council in 2006. He has more than 18 years of experience in the culinary arts and has served as chef at several Marriott restaurants and resorts. He and his family are looking forward to living in Colorado.

“This is a management team with a proven track record for excellence,” said Bill Sciortino, senior vice president of operations, Classic Residence by Hyatt. “Their combined expertise and leadership will contribute to the very successful opening of our newest community in Highlands Ranch.”
