Cherry Chocolate Cookies |

Classic Residence by Hyatt in Chevy Chase
Serves 12

Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1-3/4 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract—pure
- 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dried cherries
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Lightly grease a large cookie sheet.
- Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl with the mixer at high speed, until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla; beat until well blended.
- Combine flour, cocoa, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl; add to butter mixture; mix until uniform.
- Add chopped cherries.
- Drop dough by the tablespoonful onto prepared cookie sheet.
- Bake about 10–12 minutes or until set.
