Sharon Grundel - Executive Director

Sharon Grundel is responsible for the comfort, well-being and satisfaction of each resident at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno.

As Executive Director, Sharon oversees every aspect of the community, including the quality of services, amenities, programs and care provided to residents. Sharon exemplifies Classic Residence by Hyatt’s mission, philosophy and core values of integrity, compassion and excellence and ensures that each employee upholds these tenets.

With more than 16 years of success in senior living, Sharon has demonstrated her dedication to older adults. She volunteers for such organizations as the Shriners Hospital and has co-chaired the American Heart Association walk, the Juvenile Diabetes walk and the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk for the Cure.

Wei Anderson - Director of Accounting

Wei Anderson is responsible for the accuracy of operational accounting for Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno.

As Director of Accounting, Wei oversees all accounting functions and is responsive to resident requests and questions.

With her years of accounting experience, Wei exemplifies our core values of integrity, compassion and excellence.

Sarah Calhoun, LPN - Director of Assisted Living

Sarah Calhoun, LPN, is responsible for all aspects of the care and services provided to residents of assisted living at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno.

As Director of Assisted Living, Sarah ensures that care and services are delivered in accordance with Classic Residence by Hyatt’s mission, core values, resident care philosophy and standards of care and practice.

An experienced nurse and health care provider, Sarah hosts a monthly speaker program that provides a forum for residents, staff and the greater Reno community to meet and share information and stories on health and lifestyle topics.

Robert Darling - Director of Engineering

Robert Darling is responsible for maintaining every aspect of the setting at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno.

As Director of Engineering, Robert manages maintenance operations in such a way that residents are proud to call the community home and to invite their family and friends to share their experience at Classic Residence by Hyatt.

Robert brings a wealth of experience to the community and is dedicated to maintaining this richly designed environment at the highest standards.

Michael Johnston, CEC, CDM, CFPP - Executive Chef

As Executive Chef, Michael Johnston oversees every aspect of the culinary program for Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno, including menu creation and food preparation. Michael’s menus feature healthy and taste-tempting selections based on resident preferences.

Michael has received customized training provided by The Culinary Institute of America on nutrition, healthy cooking and baking techniques, flavor dynamics and food and wine pairing. He is a certified executive chef, certified dietary manager and certified food protection professional.

Ceci Martin - Sales Director

Ceci Martin is responsible for sales at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno, promoting the benefits of senior living to older adults and their family and friends.

As Sales Director, Ceci manages the sales team and represents Classic Residence by Hyatt to the larger community. She also serves as a resource to community organizations on the topics of senior living and assisted living.

Monica Phelps - Director of Housekeeping

Monica Phelps ensures that the highest possible degree of cleanliness and aesthetic value is achieved at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno.

As Director of Housekeeping, Monica oversees the housekeeping function for each resident’s home as well as the community areas.

Monica acquired her housekeeping management skills in the hospitality industry and has more than 20 years of experience.

Troy Riley - Lifestyle Director

Troy Riley creates and implements lifestyle-enriching programs that contribute to each resident’s whole-person wellness.

As Lifestyle Director, Troy oversees lifestyle programs designed for residents, such as social and community involvement, participatory and spectator events, creative and educational coursework, lecture series, travel clubs, book reviews, fitness classes and more.

Troy is a certified massage therapist and personal trainer.

Kathy Savage, CFBE, CDM, CFPP - Director of Dining Services

Kathy Savage is responsible for every aspect of the dining experience at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno, from table reservations and settings to the personalized service each resident receives.

As Director of Dining Services, Kathy oversees the resident dining experience in the community’s dining venues, including private dining functions that residents host for their families and friends.

Kathy has been dedicated to the resident dining experience at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno since 1994. She earned her culinary degree from the Restaurant School in Philadelphia and is a member of the Dietary Managers Association. She is a certified food and beverage executive, certified dietary manager and certified food protection professional.

Bonnie Wagner, SPHR - Director of Human Resources

As Director of Human Resources, Bonnie Wagner enhances both resident and employee satisfaction through expert oversight and management of the community’s human resources function. She recruits and develops top employees who have a passion for working with older adults.

Bonnie’s human resources career spans 20 years. She has achieved certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Florence Wurzer - Director of Resident Services

Florence Wurzer promotes a healthy, enriching environment at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno.

As Director of Resident Services, Florence helps to ensure that each resident is receiving the appropriate level of services and care. She is pleased to address the questions of residents and their family members about care options and other matters.
