Classic Residence by Hyatt, the leading provider of retirement living for older adults, announces its Reno community was recently awarded with second place in the Greater Reno-Tahoe area “Best Places to Work” awards in the category of medium-sized companies (51-150 employees). This is the second consecutive win for the community, following a first place win in the same category last year.
The recognition comes as the community makes preparations to celebrate its 20th anniversary marked by a celebration for community residents and staff on May 20, 2009. The 1920s-themed party will be a day-long celebration, including entertainment by several bands, Las Vegas-style showgirls and aerial performers. The anniversary dinner menu created by Executive Chef Michael Johnston includes Beef Wellington, Crab Louis and Chicken Marsala.
“I couldn’t be prouder of our employees. They clearly demonstrate a passion for serving older adults that has been the foundation of our community for twenty-years,” said Sharon Grundel, executive director, Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno.
Best Place to Work Award Details
The Greater Reno-Tahoe Best Places to Work awards were co-sponsored by EDAWN, the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association (NNHRA) and the Reno Gazette-Journal. Company winners were determined on overall scores from employee-satisfaction surveys. The anonymous surveys focused on 10 criteria of a satisfying working environment including: team effectiveness, trust with coworkers, manager effectiveness, feeling valued and people practices, among others.
Classic Residence by Hyatt in Reno joins two other communities in the company that have recently won “Best Place to Work” awards. Communities in Hollywood, Fla. and Scottsdale, Ariz. communities were both recently named one of the “Best Places to Work” in their respective locations this year.
