Classic Residence by Hyatt owns, manages, develops, and markets upscale senior living communities from coast to coast. Founded by Chairman Penny Pritzker in 1987, the company has experienced rapid growth and emerged as a national leader in senior living. Classic Residence by Hyatt continues to grow by creating and managing retirement communities that enhance the lifestyles and address the needs of older adults.
Classic Residence by Hyatt's portfolio includes distinctive rental senior living communities and continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). The success of each community is attributable to Classic Residence by Hyatt's experienced, innovative leadership at both the national and community levels.
Classic Residence by Hyatt's strategic growth plan is focused on opportunities to develop high-end, campus-style CCRCs in desirable locations, most recently in Palo Alto, California; Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and Dallas, Texas. Effective operations and marketing systems, a high level of resident satisfaction, and the recruitment and promotion of some of the industry's best talent all help to support the company's growth.
According to President Randy Richardson, "We are committed to providing high-quality services and amenities so our residents can enjoy their active lifestyles and pursue their varied interests. Our commitment is seen in many of our services and programs, including our exceptional dining services. We are dedicated to a dining experience that pleases the eye and the palate and is also healthy and nutritious. That is why each of our executive chefs and executive directors receives culinary and leadership training at The Culinary Institute of America. Our goal is to ensure a high-quality resident experience every day at each Classic Residence by Hyatt senior living community."
The most important measure of company success—the lifeblood of Classic Residence by Hyatt—is resident satisfaction. The company consistently garners high ratings on its "Resident Satisfaction Survey." Classic Residence by Hyatt uses this survey to identify the key areas that are most important to residents to enhance these areas at each community.
As President Randy Richardson noted, Classic Residence by Hyatt strives to make the dining experience both enjoyable and healthy. Research shows that older adults burn fewer calories and absorb fewer nutrients as they age. A diminished sense of taste and smell can cause individuals to eat less or avoid certain foods. Nutritional imbalance can lead to numerous ailments and deficiencies. To maintain health, older adults need to consume more nutritious foods.
The classically trained executive chef from each Classic Residence by Hyatt community has attended a weeklong "Techniques of Healthy Cooking" series at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone in California. This custom program helps chefs address the nutritional needs and concerns of Classic Residence by Hyatt residents while keeping food flavorful, interesting, and varied. Classic Residence chefs are applying this knowledge to Classically Caring™ Cuisine, already in place at all Classic Residence by Hyatt communities. Classically Caring Cuisine features menu items that are generally lower in sodium, fat, sugar, and calories, yet high in flavor.
In addition, Classic Residence by Hyatt executive directors attended the "Quality Every Day" leadership program at the CIA. The program followed a similar format to the "Techniques of Healthy Cooking" program, but focused on the 55+ age group, healthy cuisine, and the management of the Food and Beverage department at each Classic Residence by Hyatt community.
Beautifully designed retirement communities at prestigious addresses combined with innovative programs, distinctive services and amenities, and compassionate care have made Classic Residence by Hyatt the leader in senior living that it is today.
