Classic Residence by Hyatt and The Plaza Companies, a senior living community located at Grayhawk, has nearly completed an extensive refurbishment project that included major updates to the common areas of its main building and Care Center. As part of its dedication to the greater Scottsdale area, which has been its home for the past ten years, the community recently purchased more than 50 unique pieces of artwork created by Arizona-based talent for the recently updated common spaces. The purchase was a significant investment in the Scottsdale economy.
Classic Residence by Hyatt and The Plaza Companies has a long-held tradition of patronizing the local arts. The community at Grayhawk is now home to the painting, sculpture and mixed-media pieces of Katie Haas, Merrill Mahaffey, Dick Phillips, Jean Richardson and others, all of whom are represented by Duley Jones, Naked Horse and Wilde Meyer, the Scottsdale art galleries. The companies’ encore community at Silverstone, which is approximately midway through development and opens next year, will also proudly display a wealth of Arizonan artistry.
“In this sluggish economy, these recent purchases were a boon to both the gallery owners and the artists we represent. We are proud to be working with Classic Residence by Hyatt and The Plaza Companies, which has proven to be a true partner to artists and business owners throughout greater Scottsdale,” said Randy Jones, co-owner, Duley Jones. “Of course, we feel so privileged to house the work of such talented artists in our newly renovated community,” added Sharon Harper, president and CEO, Plaza Companies. “We were very fortunate to be able to combine a love of art with the desire to continue to support local commerce.”
All are invited to tour the refurbished community and see the newly installed artwork. Several of the artists will be visiting the community to discuss their pieces in the months to come.
