Mark Beggs - Executive Director

Mark Beggs is responsible for the comfort, well-being and satisfaction of each resident at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura.

As Executive Director, Mark oversees every aspect of the community, including the quality of services, amenities, programs and care provided to residents. Mark exemplifies Classic Residence by Hyatt’s mission, philosophy and core values of integrity, compassion and excellence and ensures that each employee upholds these tenets.

With 20 years experience in the senior living profession, Mark has demonstrated his passion and commitment to serving older adults.

Maria Mayor - Care Center Administrator

Maria Mayor ensures that each resident of the Classic Residence by Hyatt care center receives appropriate care and services and enjoys a variety of enriching programs and activities.

As Care Center Administrator, Maria oversees every aspect of the Classic Residence by Hyatt care center, from the quality of the resident experience and care to communications with family members. She is a member of the multidisciplinary Classic Residence by Hyatt care team, which works with each resident and his or her family and physician to develop a personalized plan of services and care.

Blanca Bouza - Director of Housekeeping

Blanca Bouza ensures that the highest possible degree of cleanliness and aesthetic value is achieved at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura.

As Director of Housekeeping, Blanca oversees the housekeeping function for each resident’s home as well as the community areas.

Blanca's 35 years of experience as a housekeeping executive in the fine hotel industry contributes to the resident experience at Classic Residence by Hyatt.

Paula Demello - Lifestyle Director

Paula Demello creates and implements lifestyle-enriching programs that contribute to each resident’s whole-person wellness.

As Lifestyle Director, Paula oversees lifestyle programs designed for residents, such as social and community involvement, participatory and spectator events, creative and educational coursework, lecture series, travel clubs, book reviews, fitness classes and more.

Paula earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida International University (FIU) and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in gerontology.

Robert Ibgui, CEC, CDM, CFPP - Executive Chef

As Executive Chef, Robert Ibgui oversees every aspect of the culinary program for Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura, including menu creation, food preparation and the management of therapeutic diets. Robert's menus feature healthy and taste-tempting selections based on resident preferences.

Robert's culinary expertise was developed in the hotel industry and at country clubs and gourmet restaurants. He has received customized training provided by The Culinary Institute of America on nutrition, healthy cooking and baking techniques, flavor dynamics and food and wine pairing. He received his culinary diploma from the prestigious Mederic Culinary School in Paris. He is a certified executive chef, certified dietary manager and certified food protection professional.

Marlene Johnson, RN - Director of Nursing

Marlene Johnson, RN, is responsible for the quality of care and services provided to residents of assisted living, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, and skilled nursing care at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura.

As Director of Nursing, Marlene works with the Care Center Administrator, the resident’s personal physician and the consulting medical director to develop the plan of care or plan of services for each resident. She ensures that care and services are delivered in accordance with Classic Residence by Hyatt’s mission, core values, resident care philosophy and standards of care and practice. She serves as a member of the multidisciplinary Classic Residence by Hyatt care team.

Marlene brings a wealth of nursing experience to Classic Residence by Hyatt.

Tara Kjellgren, PHR - Director of Human Resources

As Director of Human Resources, Tara Kjellgren, PHR, enhances both resident and employee satisfaction through expert oversight and management of the community’s human resources function. She recruits and develops top employees who have a passion for working with older adults.

Tara’s background in human resources, business management, and health care contributes to the resident and employee experience at Classic Residence by Hyatt. Tara earned her master’s degree in human resources from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. She is a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).

Vivian Lerner - Director of Resident Services

Vivian Lerner promotes a healthy, enriching environment at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura.

As Director of Resident Services, Vivian helps to ensure that each resident is receiving the appropriate level of services and care. She is pleased to address the questions of residents and their family members about care options and other matters.

Vivian's expertise in senior living enhances the resident experience at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura.

Nestor Marchand, CDM, CFPP, CFBE - Director of Dining Services

Nestor Marchand is responsible for every aspect of the dining experience at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura, from table reservations and settings to the personalized service each resident receives.

As Director of Dining Services, Nestor oversees the resident dining experience in the community’s dining venues, including private dining functions that residents host for their families and friends.

Nestor's extensive experience in the hospitality industry is ideally suited to our discerning resident clientele. He is a certified dietary manager, certified food protection professional and certified food and beverage executive.

Ellen Palmer - Sales Director

Ellen Palmer is responsible for sales at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura, promoting the benefits of senior living to older adults and their family and friends.

As Sales Director, Ellen manages the sales team and represents Classic Residence by Hyatt to the larger community. She also serves as a resource to community organizations on the topics of senior living and continuing care.

Ellen has over 20 years of experience in marketing and advertising and has been honored with numerous awards throughout her career for exceeding sales goals.

Rodolfo Silva - Director of Accounting

Rodolfo Silva is responsible for the accuracy of operational accounting for Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura.

As Director of Accounting, Rodolfo oversees all accounting functions and is responsive to resident requests and questions.

With his previous experience in health care and at a continuing care retirement community, Rodolfo exemplifies our core values of integrity, compassion and excellence.

James Williams - Director of Engineering

James Williams is responsible for maintaining every aspect of the setting at Classic Residence by Hyatt in Aventura.

As Director of Engineering, James manages maintenance operations in such a way that residents are proud to call the community home and to invite their family and friends to share their experience at Classic Residence by Hyatt.

With more than 10 years at Classic Residence by Hyatt, James is dedicated to maintaining this richly designed environment at the highest standards.
